November 20, 2019 – This GivingTuesday, EnJewel will inspire generosity by helping in the fight against Human
Trafficking here locally. Our goal is to educate starting with Human Traffic Awareness/Prevention in January and
program awareness throughout the year. EnJewel will continue their efforts in collaborating with The Butterfly
House as they just opened their first home and looking for their next home locally in Virginia Beach.
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform
their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people
to give back on December 3rd, and throughout the year.
Join in making a difference by donating to help get a home for minors – first of its kind in Hampton Roads. We will
need help in providing the necessities for eight girls that will be rescued from human trafficking – right here in our
own backyard.
“This is so needed in this region – let us be the first to showcase how we can respond to the desperate need of
rescuing these children and how they can be prepared to go back into society and be a model for the rest of the
nation,” says George Alcaraz, City of Virginia Beach, Oceanfront Planning Commissioner. “This is made possible
from the generosity given during GivingTuesday efforts.”
GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea: to create a day that encourages people to do good.
“GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to embrace their power to drive progress around the causes
they care about, not just on one day but throughout the year.” said Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s CEO, and cofounder. “With country and community leaders, millions of organizations, and countless givers of all kinds,
GivingTuesday is creating a shared space where we can see the radical implications of a more generous world.”
